Getting Started
What is ArcticCodex?
ArcticCodex is a subscription platform that gives you unified access to multiple AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Mistral, and more) through one simple interface and one monthly bill.
How do I start using ArcticCodex?
Sign up for a free 7-day trial (50K token credits, no credit card required). Pick a model, start chatting, and explore different AI providers to find what works best for your needs.
Do I need technical knowledge to use ArcticCodex?
No! If you can use ChatGPT, you can use ArcticCodex. Simply select a model from the dropdown and start chatting. Advanced features like API access are optional.
Pricing & Billing
What are token credits vs actual tokens?
Token credits are your monthly allowance. When you use a model, actual tokens consumed are multiplied by that model's cost multiplier. Premium models (like GPT-4o or Claude Opus) consume more credits per token; cheaper models (like GPT-3.5 or Haiku) consume fewer credits. This protects you from unexpected costs while giving access to all models.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Once your monthly credit quota is used, you cannot send new messages until your billing cycle resets or you upgrade to a higher tier. Your conversation history remains accessible.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! New users get a 7-day trial with 50K token credits. No credit card required. The trial does not auto-renew—simply add payment when ready to upgrade.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) via Stripe. Annual plans can be paid via bank transfer for enterprise customers.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer prorated refunds within 7 days of a new subscription or upgrade. Monthly subscriptions are not refundable mid-cycle, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.
Models & Features
Which AI models are available?
We provide access to: OpenAI (GPT-3.5, GPT-4, GPT-4o, o1), Anthropic (Claude Haiku, Sonnet, Opus), Google (Gemini 2.0 Flash, Pro), DeepSeek, Mistral, and xAI. Availability depends on your subscription tier.
Which models are available in each tier?
Trial: GPT-3.5, Claude Haiku, Gemini Flash. Basic ($9): Adds GPT-4 Turbo. Pro ($29) & Max ($99): All models including GPT-4o, o1, Claude Opus, and all premium models.
How do I choose the right model?
Use GPT-3.5/Haiku for simple tasks, GPT-4/Gemini for complex reasoning, Claude Opus for creative writing, and o1 for advanced problem-solving. The chat interface shows model descriptions to help you choose.
Can I switch models mid-conversation?
Not currently. Each conversation is tied to one model. To try a different model, start a new conversation. We may add model-switching in future updates.
Do you save my conversation history?
Yes. All conversations are saved and accessible from your account. You can export, delete, or search your history anytime. Your data is never used to train AI models.
Privacy & Security
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. ArcticCodex does not train models. Your conversations are sent to the respective model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) based on their privacy policies. Most providers do not train on API data by default.
Who can see my conversations?
Only you. ArcticCodex staff do not access user conversations unless you explicitly request support and grant access. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
What are audit receipts?
Every AI response includes a verifiable receipt with timestamps, token usage, and cost breakdown. This makes ArcticCodex suitable for compliance-sensitive industries (legal, healthcare, finance).
Is ArcticCodex GDPR/HIPAA compliant?
We are GDPR-aligned and offer data processing agreements (DPA). HIPAA Business Associate Agreements (BAA) are available for Enterprise customers. Contact sales for compliance documentation.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete individual conversations or your entire account at any time from the Account Settings page. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Technical & API
Does ArcticCodex offer an API?
Yes. API access is included in Pro and Max plans. Generate API keys from your account dashboard and use our OpenAI-compatible REST API.
Is there a rate limit?
Your rate limit depends on your token credit allowance, not requests per minute. As long as you have credits, you can send requests. Abuse prevention measures apply to all tiers.
Can I self-host ArcticCodex?
Enterprise customers can license a self-hosted version with air-gapped deployment options. Contact sales@arcticcodex.com for details.
Support & Account
How do I contact support?
Email support@arcticcodex.com or use the in-app chat widget. Pro and Max customers receive priority support with faster response times.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Cancel anytime from Account Settings. You retain access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds for mid-cycle cancellations.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account and data remain accessible for 30 days after cancellation. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted unless you reactivate your subscription.
