Web2TXT Install Guide
Web2TXT currently installs as a Chrome extension through Developer Mode. The process is short, but this version is best suited to technical buyers who are comfortable loading an unpacked extension folder.
Before you start
- A current desktop version of Google Chrome or a Chromium-based browser with Chrome extension support.
- Your purchased or downloaded Web2TXT package extracted to a normal folder on disk.
- Access to a browser window containing the tabs you want to export later.
Install steps
- Extract the package so the folder contains `manifest.json`, `src/`, and `assets/`.
- Open Chrome extensions by visiting `chrome://extensions`.
- Enable Developer Mode using the toggle in the upper-right corner.
- Click “Load unpacked” and select the extracted Web2TXT folder.
- Confirm the extension appears in your installed extensions list and pin it to the toolbar if desired.
First use
- Open the websites or documents you want to capture in a single Chrome window.
- Click the Web2TXT extension icon.
- Set a filename and choose whether to include tab titles, URLs, iframe content, and a Save As dialog.
- Run the export and wait for the download to start.
- Open the generated `.txt` file and verify the captured text.

Known restrictions
- `chrome://` pages and Chrome internals
- Chrome Web Store pages
- Some restricted/protected tabs
- Sites that block the needed injection path
Troubleshooting
- No eligible tabs found: make sure at least one normal website is open; browser-internal tabs cannot be scraped.
- Extension does not respond: reload the extension from `chrome://extensions` and try again.
- Download did not start: confirm Chrome download permissions are allowed and retry with a simple filename.

Support expectations
- Reasonable install and usage help is available through the support page and email path.
- Order recovery should start with View My Orders.
- This version is still best suited to buyers comfortable with the Load unpacked flow.
